About WGSS
The Working Group for Social Sciences (WGSS) in the Finnish-Russian Commission for Scientific and Technological Cooperation is an advisory and expert body on an ongoing basis established under the Agreement on Scientific and Technological Co-operation between RF Government and the Government of the Republic of Finland (Helsinki, 11 July 1992).
WGSS is headed by Finnish and Russian representatives on the bilateral basis:
FINLAND – Prof. RIITTA KOSONEN, CEMAT Director (School of Economics, Aalto University, Finland)
RUSSIA – Academician Prof. ALEXANDER NEKIPELOV, RAS Vice-President (Russian Academy of Sciences, Russia)
Within WGSS framework, Centre for Markets in Transition (CEMAT) of the School of Economics in Aalto University organised a series of Finnish and Russian seminars in 2005–2010.
